With the new update instead of a simple list of tasks in today many are expanded to show notes. Might work for some but not for me. How do you produce a simple line list of today tasks?

You can decide what to see expanded or not in Settings > Appearance > Task view (I think it's called that in English). I think that the default setting is with notes expanded but you can switch it off. Then it will only show the notes icon. The same applies to attachments and links etc.
