Behavior of overdue daily recurring task

Hi, if I have a daily recurring task such as Evening Ritual, and I don't complete it on say Tuesday, on Wednesday it will be in the overdue section as expected.

What is unexpected to me is if on Wednesday I click on it to complete it, it jumps to Thursday (2 days). I would think since it repeats daily, it would advance 1 day to Wednesday.

Is there any setting to change this to repeat daily even if overdue?

When you complete daily recurring tasks, it'll make next task according to current date. I'll keep your feedback on the list to consider. Thanks!
