Board view won't sort by tag

In both iOS and MacOS GoodTask, I cannot sort by tags when in board view. All other sorting options work, but when I click on the "tag" option, all my tasks just remain in the list titled "No Tags." I have tags in the note section of my tasks and have checked to make sure that in settings tag is set to "notes."

Any suggestions?

Would you check your tag settings for the list? Go into 'Edit List - Tags' and see how it's set. If it's set to Automatic, you can try turning it off to see which tags are used and turn it back on.

Or you can check inside 'Settings - Sort, tags - Edit: Tags' to check global settings for the tags.

I tried exactly that and it didn’t work (it was set to automatic and I tried turning that off and on). What DID work was adding tags I use to my quick actions. Only once I did that would the board view sort by tag. But I had assumed that shouldn’t be necessary right?

Tags that gets noticed with automatic are 1. Tags used in filters of smart lists, 2. Tags used in quick actions and manually added tags in sort options.

If you’ve added tags manually without above things, it won’t be used to sort.
