Changing date of repeating tasks but not changing future occurrences

Hi,

Apologies if this has been asked before, but I couldn't find it on the forum.

I am looking to change a repeating task's due date without affecting the timing of the future occurrences.

For example, I have a task which I usually work on every Monday of every week. Tomorrow, Thursday, I want to work on that task and change the due date to tomorrow. When I do so, the next repeat of that task switches to a Thursday. But I still want the repeat of that task to show on next Monday, when I would usually work on it. Other than manually changing the due date for the next repeat when it becomes available, is there a way to do this in settings?

The reason I want to change the due date is so it appears in the Next and Now views in order for me to 'focus' on the task.

Hi @ajph1970 , thanks for the feedback.

If you set recurrence rule to ‘Every week on Monday’ in custom menu, it should work. Since the next task is made upon this rule when you complete/skip the task, current due date should not matter. Try it out. Thanks!
