Is there a way in Goodtask (or even just raw apple reminders) to add a new reminder/ task from anywhere? Like I might be in gmail and want to add a task with a keyboard shortcut.

If you're talking about Mac, you can set Global Keyboard Shortcut inside app's preferences. If you're talking about iOS, you need to use share sheet.
