Customizing Day View

Apologies in advance should the answer be posted elsewhere.

I am aware that many of teh views can be customized from Settings > General but I cannot find a way to customize Day view. Specifically, I woudl like to:

  1. Exclude scheduled tasks (which are currently appearing); and
  2. Include overdue tasks (which are currently not appearing).

Please let me know how to do this.

Thanks for the feedback.

Day view is basically a filter with a day to the whole list view. So when you’re in day view’s today, it’ll show you tasks for today. If you have Settings - General - Overdue tasks on - Current date option, overdue tasks will be shown on today on day view.

Keep in mind that overall filter is set first with smart list filters and then if you’re on day view, another filter will be on top of the current list.

Scheduled tasks include today’s tasks so it can’t be removed if it’s already in the list.

If you need to remove scheduled tasks, I recommend making a smart list with the filter and use list view on that list.

Let's see whether I understand this.

One hour keeping point first, the OP had an error, I meant to write (which is now corrected) to Exclude unscheduled tasks.

Please correct / confirm each of the following:

  1. Day View a filer than is applied on top of the Whole List View meaning i) that Day View adds a "date overlay and navigation" on top of Whole List View which in turns means that ii) Whole List View is what needs to be properly configured.

  2. If in Day View and General > Settings > Overdue Tasks is i) set to Current Date then overdue tasks will appear on the due date and the current date until completed OR ii) is set to Due Date then overdue tasks will appear only on their due date.

Appreciated and understood noting this is "fixed" as a result of my typo.

Yes, your understanding is correct.

Also for undated tasks (unscheduled), you can hide it in day view. You can set it by editing list settings (Edit List) - Undated Tasks to List only or Specific.

It appears that the Edit List setting is per list (i.e., there is not a global setting), is this correct?

It appears that the Undated Task options are All, List Only and Specific. Can you please explain the impact of the different settings as they are not clear (at least to me)?

Yes, you can edit each list settings. If you set undated tasks to 'All', it'll be shown on list view and current date on day, week, month view. If you choose 'List Only', it'll be shown on list view only and hidden in day, week and month view. On Specific, you can choose which view you want to see them one by one. Thanks!
