I have an event that occurs each Friday but the location has changed and I can't even figure out how to make any changes at all besides the name of the event and the time. Am I missing something here? here is a screenshot.

Editing calendar events are limited on Mac version to only title and time like you've mentioned.
I'll keep your feedback on the list to consider. Meanwhile, you should edit the event on Calendars app or on iOS.
