Have you ever thought about making GoodTask completely independent of Apple Reminders, like an autonomous application (like other task apps, using iCloud or a dedicated server for sync)?
Iām asking because GoodTask is still my favorite due to its unmatched level of customization, but I like to keep some stuff on Apple Reminders (typically the family-shared items) causing some setup problems, especially with notifications. In the end, I would love two separate apps with just one folder syncing, like with Things 3.
Anyway, I was wondering if it crossed your mind to "free" GoodTask
Thanks for the feedback. It's been considered but not made it through yet. The main characteristic of GoodTask is the connection to Reminders and there should be much more to break through that and become a sole app/service that stand out. I'll keep on considering it though. Thanks!
@GoodTask I just wanted to chime in that the reason I am using GoodTask is specifically because it uses Apple Reminders. I would not want GoodTask to break the connection with Reminders and use its own separate database. I like the privacy and security of only storing data in my iCloud account (which is protected with end-to-end encryption because of Advanced Data Protection for iCloud), and I like the integration of my tasks within the Apple ecosystem (iPhone, iPad, Mac) that comes from using the Reminders database. It also means it works seamlessly to use Siri or any other method to create tasks/reminders in the Reminders database, which I can then manage using GoodTask.
