GoodTask has stopped functioning following the most recent update

GoodTask has stopped functioning following the most recent update.

Description

I have been using GoodTask without any issues for approximately 12 months. Following the latest update from the Mac App Store (version 8.2.4), the application no longer starts correctly.

The application launches and the main window appears, but it immediately becomes unresponsive. The only way to close it is by using Force Quit or terminating the process via Activity Monitor.

This behaviour is occurring on both of my Macs, making it unlikely to be a machine-specific issue.

Troubleshooting Performed

  • Restarted both Macs.
  • Force Quit using Activity Monitor.
  • Uninstalled and reinstalled GoodTask from the Mac App Store.
  • Removed all GoodTask application support files, preferences, cache files and associated data before reinstalling.
  • Confirmed both Macs are running the latest version available from the Mac App Store.

None of these steps resolved the issue.

Environment

  • GoodTask version: 8.2.4
  • Installed from: Mac App Store
  • macOS version: 26.5.1 (25F80)
  • Issue reproduced on two separate Macs running the same version of macOS.

Please help.

Hi @comedy_trammel , thanks for the report. I've tested on same status as yours but it seems to work well on my side. It could be something related to your data. Would you try opening Reminders app and see if it works properly? Also check if you have iCloud properly logged in. Let me know how it went. Thanks!
