GoodTask widget oniPhone—just a black rectangle?

After trying it out for a day, I purchased GoodTask for my MacBook Pro, and also for my iPhone/Apple Watch. I love it so far, particularly my GoodTask Watch complication that I just need to tap, and up comes my list.
But the GoodTask widget on my iPhone... I'll try some different ones, but to start, I want just a list—say a list of Today's tasks (without a calendar)—but the only widget shape I seem to be able to choose is a small square. I'd like a screen-wide rectangle, so I can read more of the listings. When I try to choose the wider rectangle shape in Edit Widget, nothing happens.
Can anyone advise me, regarding how to choose a wider GoodTask widget?

Hi @malch , thanks for the feedback.

Would you try adding a new widget? You can swipe between widgets while adding on that page.

Currently changing size directly from existing widget does not work since they have different options. I'll try to improve it later on.

No need to improve this. I just had to do what you suggested—and it worked. Thank you. While I have your attention, though, allow me to ask: is there a way to change the background colour of this widget?
Also, how do I add a widget on my MacBook Pro display?

  1. You can set up 'Theme' for the widget. Go into Settings > Appearance > Widget Theme and try making a theme for yourself. It could be somewhat complicated at first but it will be a worthwhile. You can import from app's theme to begin with.
  2. It's same with other widgets on Mac. You can right click on background and right click and choose 'Edit Widgets'. Select the widget there and use it afterwards. Since you can add widgets from iPhone, make sure it doesn't show 'From iPhone' on top right while adding the widget. 'From iPhone' widget is mirrored from your iPhone so it won't work better than the one right on the device.

I promise to stop asking so many questions, but I'm now confused because my GoodTask widget on my iPhone is just a white rectangle. Do you know why, and can you please tell me how to fix it? Thanks so much, match

I restarted my Phone and the widget is back so all is good!
Thank you for such a useful, elegantly designed app. Better than any of the other task-manager apps I've tried over the years.
