Hitting “complete” on notification banners

Hi there,
I tried a lot but my problem always exists throughout multiple versions of GoodTask and iOS…
If a reminder is due, you receive a notification. If you tap this, you can either snooze this notification, open quick actions or mark this item as completed. When marking as completed the item should vanish from the home screen (and Lock Screen) widget. But it always stays there. I tried waiting a long time, background app refresh is on, rebooted many times.
Now, on the medium and large home screen widget you have a refresh button. This works but is a bit inconvenient. If I try to mark an individual item as completed by pressing the little circle in the home screen widget (to the left of the item) it sometimes take three attempts until the item disappears.
Is anyone else having the same issue and does this anyone bother as much as me?

Hi @Julius , thanks for the feedback.

Since running actions on notifications can not trigger actions on the widget, it’s a bit limited to make it refresh at the moment. I’m keeping my eye on it to see if it gets opened on every iOS update but it’s not available yet. I’ll improve it when it gets possible.

For completing directly on the widget, if you tap once again, it’ll undo the action so tapping it once and waiting should do the job.

Thanks!

I forgot to mention that the refresh of the widget worked perfectly fine pre iOS 18.
Meanwhile I had a conversation with an apple employee about this topic (cause it doesn’t work on the native reminders app as well) and he said that this will be fixed with iOS 18.4
Let’s hope if he’s right…
