Ideas for Do Next / Do Today Smart List

Hi all,

if I have a ton of tasks I like to (manually) pick a subset that I want to focus on next. I wonder what could be to easiest / most frictionless way to do this.

For now I came up with a tag workflow:
I add the #DoToday tag to the tasks I want to do from the ones that are due today. I show those with a respective smart list. To avoid repeating tasks to be forever blessed with the #DoToday tag I defined a Quick Action that removes the tag and marks the task as complete. It seems to work but I need to remember to complete the task via the Quick Action.

Does anybody have a similar requirement and found a better solution to filter today's task to a manually defined subset and "forget" this manual categorization, once the task is completed?

Thanks for using GoodTask.

Inside Repeat option, you can choose to Clear Notes at the bottom. By doing it, next item will have empty notes. Since tags do not go away, I suggest using just a text string rather than a tag. By adding a text on a notes field, it can be filtered through smart list and then get it removed after completion.

You can delete # while making a smart list and it should work. Adding it via quick actions should be an easy job by appending it on notes.

It’s just one idea. Hope it helps. Thanks!

Thank you - that is pretty clever too.
I think I'll stick with the tag idea and Quick Actions - maybe I'll need the note to be preserved at some point.
