iOS 13 and Catalina releasing at different times

I’m not on the beta on any systems.

iOS 13 is coming out in two weeks and Mac update is coming in October. My question is, do I upgrade the database when iOS 13 releases or do I wait till my Mac gets the new update? If I do migrate when the iOS 13 comes out, will my Mac stop syncing?

I’m really looking forward to the new features in reminders like attachments etc.
