Is there a limit on simultaneous notifications?
I tend to get around 6 and then the rest doesn't give me a notification.
Some of them might reappear with the autosnooze.
HI @zappe, thanks for using GoodTask.
There is no limit on iOS devices. There is a limit though of 64 local notifications that can be set per application at once.
How can I work around that?
What happen if I set more?
When the app runs (in foreground or background), it'll set upcoming notifications up to its limit. If you've set more than the limit in short period before the app runs again, notifications over the limit will not be set.
I don't see any normal use case which will hit this issue though. Would you give me some examples or your use case which might hit the limit?
I have 69 tasks at the moment so I assume I'll hit this limit?
Is this an Apple limit?
If you don't have those 69 tasks in 10 minutes, it'll probably be okay.
And yes, the limit is for all the apps on iOS.
To give more details,
limit only applies to local notifications which is preset by device. If the app uses remote notifications, it doesn't matter since notifications will be pushed when it needs to run. These remote notifications are pushed by servers so apps that use servers to manage data will run differently.
GoodTask sets notifications when you go out of the app. Also it refreshes when 'Background App Refresh' runs and when other actions happen which let the app run in background.
So if you're using the app regularly, limit won't be a matter.
Hope it made sense. Thanks!
I see, and I don't!
Though I noticed that when I had 15 at the same time I only got about 50%
