List View Calendar Event Ordering

Apologies for what may be a very simple question but here goes.

I have a Today SmartList which includes the calendar events. I have the tasks sorted in alpha order (good) but it is also sorting the calendar events in alpha order rather than chronological order (which is bad).

Is there a way to have teh tasks sorted in alpha order and teh called events in chronological order?

It would be great to be able to sort the calendar separately as it is not terribly helpful to have those items in alpha order, much better to have those in chronological order!
