New Task default list keeps changing

Hi. Something I just cannot figure out.
For years I have had a List called Inbox which is set as the default for New Tasks where they are sent for later sorting. I also have custom placed the Inbox near the top of the LHS lists panel.
Recently, last few months, I keep finding that the Inbox jumps to the bottom of the panel display and the New Task defaults to a different list.
I change it back but seemingly randomly it happens again - maybe 2x month?
I’m suspecting the list positioning maybe confusion over cloud sync, clashing devices iphone/ipad?
The New Task defaulting to a different list is weird though.
Any ideas?

Would you try running Settings - Advanced - Delete local cache files and check if it fixes the issue?
