New user with a few app suggestions

Over the years I've mainly used the more powerful task managers (Omnifocus, Things, Todoist, etc) but recently had to convert to the simpler Reminders app now that my wife and I's life is getting a bit harder to manage as the kids are getting older and more things need tracked.

Anywho, I was not satisfied with using Reminders but the only thing that gave me hope was the fact that you have created GoodTask. It adds just enough power to make Reminders useful.

Now, on to my suggestions/questions (please call me out if these are already available and I've simply missed them):

  • It would be nice to jump straight to a list from within a task.
  • I like the quick date and time adds to the task title but it would be nice if GoodTask would support the same natural language date entries that the native Reminders app does (every day, monthly, etc). Mainly the recurring capturing.
*Why are sub tasks created in reminders separated when viewing within GoodTask? It would be nice if this was supported going both ways. It's odd to me that GoodTasks sub tasks show in the notes of the task instead of actual sub tasks.
  • Can we get a combined subscription with the Mac app included? I would pay more to have that one included and ensure you can continue to support it.

Please don't take this as a critique but rather as enhancement requests to make this app even better than it already is. Keep up the great work.

To everyone in the forum that likes this app....if you want to see this app supported long into the future, I would highly suggest switching from the one-time payment to subscription. Even the iOS subscription is dirt cheap compared to other task managers out there. I don't see how any small development team can support their livelihood on one time purchases anymore. (This isn't meant to spur some long debate about subscriptions services, but rather a reminder to think about how we all support small developers that make a great product that we use every day).

Thanks for great feedback.

  1. If you want to move directly to a list inside a task, you need to use url scheme. For example, you can add [list](goodtask3://view?title=gt) to make a link that opens list with the title 'gt'.

  2. I'll keep your feedback about task snippets for recurring options.

  3. Info about subtasks in Reminders app is not shared to 3rd party apps. They give the info as just other tasks. Subtasks in GoodTask is a simple text based checklist which is shown same inside Reminders app's notes field.

  4. I'll keep your feedback.

Thanks for your support!

That stinks that they don’t fully sync subtasks but I honestly prefer your implementation better so I’ll just always create on the GoodTask side.
Thank you for the quick response!
