Next only filter: see only the n next reminders from each list

Is there a way to configure a smart list to show only the n next reminders from each list?

So if I have two lists a and b, each with multiple tasks, I could see:

Task 1 (a)
Task 1 (b)

When one of them is completed I would see:

Task 2 (a)
Task 1 (b)

We can do this in Omnifocus with sequential projects. Why? To prevent overwhelm. See only the next step rather than everything at once. Without having to set dates and keep on top of them when life gets in the way.

Currently there is no way to make a list like you've mentioned. I'll keep it on the list to consider. Thanks!
