Today, I tried location-based notifications for the first time. However, when I arrived at the specified location, the notification didn’t come through. I realized this might be due to a setting that only allows location access while the app is in use.
I tried changing the settings to allow constant location access, but I couldn’t find such an option. I also checked the settings in the Goodtask app, but I didn’t find a function for always-on location access there either.
Could you please let me know how to grant the app permission for constant location access or configure it so that notifications come through even when it’s not open?
Thank you for your response! However, I still have a question. When I set up a notification to trigger upon arriving at a specific location, it didn’t come through until I opened the app. This is probably due to a setting that only allows location access when the app is in use.
I would like the notifications to come through without having to open the app — meaning a setting that allows continuous location access, even when the phone is locked. Is it possible to set up the app this way?
When I set up a notification to trigger upon arriving at a specific location, I arrived there and stayed for about 10 minutes, but the notification didn’t come through. However, as soon as I opened the Goodtask app, the notification appeared.
I would like to set up the notifications so that they come through without needing to open the Goodtask app.
Normally it should. Please check above settings and also make sure Background App Refresh is not turned off. Also I recommend not force closing the app on app switcher (swipe up on the screen that shows all opened apps).
Where can I check if background app refresh is enabled? In the location settings that the app requests, there should be an 'Always' option, but for some reason, I don’t have that option available.
