Notifications in Focus Mode

I have my iPhone focus modes set up to allow notifications from GoodTask and a few other apps when those modes are turned on. The other apps always notify me. GoodTask never does, even though notifications are on in GoodTask. Please help.

Does it work when focus mode is turned off? If so, you may try removing it and adding it back on Settings app and restart the device.

Just tried this. In each focus mode, it only works when the app remains open, and it doesn't play my selected notification sound (sound #2). It instead plays a generic system sound.

Have you tried checking off inside default Settings app - Focus - Your Focus - Allow Notifications: Apps and then back on? If so, try checking it off, restart the device and then check it back on.

You should set alert after it's properly set.

Yes, I did that. It had no effect.

If you’re force closing the app (swipe up on app switcher), would you try changing option - Settings > Advanced > Performance mode to Off and check again?

Which steps would you like to see in the screen recording? FYI, notifications are also turned on for my MacBook Pro without any issue.

Checking below things would be helpful.

  1. Default settings app - Focus - Notification settings
  2. GoodTask app’s Settings - General - Notification settings
  3. GoodTask - Add a new task with alert after one minute
  4. Status on that time.

The issue isn't with alerts for tasks. It's with “Start the Day” and “Finish the Day.” I just emailed the videos.

Update: Not sure if it's the recent update, but I'm successfully getting iOS notifications for starting and finishing the day while in Do Not Disturb, even if GoodTask isn't open. But I'm still not getting sound with the notifications.

If it’s a sound issue, it could be some iOS bug. Or you may want to check sound settings in default Settings app’s Notifications page. Thanks!

Notifications are set up properly in the default Settings app. GoodTask is the only permitted app that doesn't sound while focus modes are activated.

UPDATE: GoodTask still doesn't send Start/End the Day notifications when my Work focus is turned on.

Hi @helpneeded, thanks for the details.

Today page notifications sound doesn't follow the ones used for task alerts. It gives simple system sound which is pretty short so it may not be heard on loud conditions. Also these are not time sensitive notifications.

I've tested on my side and it seems to work as expected. If you need alert for some needs, I recommend using alert on tasks rather than today page notifications.
