Hi, I’m unable to set due dates for subtasks as no calendar shows up for the subtasks section; I’m attaching a snapshot. Please let me know.
Hi @rp1 , thanks for using GoodTask.
Subtasks on GoodTask is a simple text based checklist which doesn’t have other values at the moment. It’s saved in notes field on Reminders app’s database which can be read elsewhere and can be used on other platforms such as NextCloud.
I’ll keep your feedback on the list to consider. Thanks!
Hi,
I'm new to GoodtaskApp and exited about a ToDo App working seamless with Nextcloud for collaboration with my team.
But I can't get subtasks to work with Nextcloud.
If I create a subtask in the GoodTaskApp I see a note inside the main-task in Nextcloud
[ ] This is a subtask created in GoodTaskApp
If I create a subtask in Nextcloud, I see an independen Task in the GoodTaskApp. Not nested within the main-task.
How is this supposed to work?
Thanks for clarifying,
paradeiser
Hi @paradeiser , thanks for the feedback. Subtasks feature that GoodTask provides is a text based checklist in Notes field. With the latest version, it should share the same markdown format on notes field. If subtasks in NextCloud is a separate full-featured tasks like latest Reminders app, it won't work as same subtasks. Thanks!
Thanks for the quick reply.
may I suggest to use standard markdown syntax for subtasks written to the notes field?
Currently GoodTaskApp uses the syntax
[x] SubTask1
[ ] SubTask2
which is afaik not markdown standard and also is not rendered correct in Nextcloud. (It's renderd like the MD code instead of actual checkboxes.)
Why don't you use the standard markdown syntax
- [x] SubTask1
- [ ] SubTask2
which renders nicely in the Nextcloud Tasks web interface.
Thank you,
paradeiser
It's saved as you've mentioned but reads both structure and shows them in subtasks in GoodTask. I'm not using Nextcloud myself but I've heard from the users that it reads them properly. Is it not?
GoodTaskApp reads / understands both versions and shows them accordingly as SubTasks.
But if created in GoodTasksApp, it renders like this in the Nextcloud WebUI:
If you manually add the dash in front of the brackets in the notes field it renders actual checkboxes (I can't attach a second screenshot).
Thanks for the info. It’ll be helpful if you can share a screenshot with the working version. I’ll take a look. (You can send me an email to contact@hahaint.com )
Thanks!
