Watch not updating manual sort order?

I just discovered GoodTask a few days ago and am absolutely loving it. I have basically been looking for a todo/reminders app like this for a long time and am blown away by the customization options that are available.

While trying to get my workflow sorted out, I have come across an issue with syncing a manual sort order from my iPhone to my watch. When I will drag and drop to change the order of tasks, it is not updating on my watch (even when I have a custom sort with only manual selected). I also have the watch sort option set as “app”. Interestingly enough, I can force it to update by either changing the watch sort order from app to default in the settings (and/or changing it back again) or by force closing the phone app and reopening it. Any other change I make to the priority, name, etc. pretty much instantly shows on my watch.

Am I doing something wrong or might I be encountering a bug of some sort? Any help would be appreciated!

Hi @GeeDuhb, thanks for the feedback. Since manual sort value is handled by GoodTask, it has some limitations while syncing between devices. Especially for Apple Watch, it may get limited if there are too many values. Various values including settings are synced through Apple Watch and if it exceeds certain size, it may not sync. Manual sort value is lower in priority for synced values.

Values for tasks that are synced via Reminders database will show instantly regardless of these.

Since your situation seem like the data is properly going through, it may be some kind of bug which may not refresh the view right away. I'll take a look to see if any fix is needed.

Thanks!

Thanks for the quick reply!

Gotcha, that makes sense. It isn’t the end of the world, as force closing the app isn’t a huge deal if I need to manually kick it after I have made changes, but I thought I would ask. I appreciate you looking into it and am very impressed with how responsive you are here on the forum. Thanks again!
